International House Integra Bielsko is looking for
a new DIRECTOR OF STUDIES
who will be responsible for supervising and supporting a team of EFL teachers
and ensuring the smooth running of the academic programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for an existing DOS or ADOS or Senior Teacher with management skills; experience of running input sessions and observing teachers; the ability to motivate staff and ensure a positive working environment; min. of the Cambridge DELTA or equivalent , a min. of 5 years’ teaching experience and preferably YL extention to CELTA (or equivalents).
The appointee should demonstrate superior capacity to:
• lead and manage a team so that they can achieve agreed goals efficiently and effectively
• balance quality and commercial objectives
• inspire staff to contribute above average outputs on an ongoing basis
• focus on academic outcomes
• grow the school
• work closely with the School Director , with other administrative staff in the school and ensure a team spirit among all staff, both academic and support
• represent the school in a way that enhances its reputation and wins business
• commit to the school for the duration of the contract
Duties will include:
A teaching timetable of 6-8 hours per week.
(1) Academic Management
Class timetabling; ensuring the correct placement of new students to the school; dealing with complaints / problem solving; attending and ensuring Parents’ Days run smoothly; curriculum and course development; selecting coursebooks; monitoring mid and end of year reports and recommendations; coordination of exam courses through keeping abreast with exam dates/format, supervising the mock exams and monitoring progress of exam classes; coordination of business classes including demonstrative lessons, placement testing, needs analysis.
(2) Staff Management
Leading and developing the teaching team through recruitment, mentoring, training, observation, regular feedback and meetings; organising and supervising the induction period before the academic year starts; day to day support of teachers; writing PDI (Professional Development Interview) forms twice a year and writing teachers’ reports at the end of the year; preparing and leading weekly teachers’ and senior staff meetings; coordination of and presentation of weekly input sessions, standby coordination; emergency lesson and standby cover; ensuring teachers’ admin duties are being met; support of other senior members of staff.
(3) General
Updating the Teachers’ Handbook, allocation of teaching budgets (social, photocopying and resources), having regular contact with the School Director and School Manager; ensuring implementation of the school policy contained in teachers’ contracts; coordination of monthly timesheets; overseeing the social program; regular contact/meetings with the School Director and management team.

Remuneration:
* monthly salary: 4500 - 5000 PLN subject to experience and qualifications
* bonus: 500 – 1000 PLN per month.
Contract dates: September 2012 – June 2013 and other years to come.
Holidays: 20 days paid.
